Hunnibell Racing > 8th November 2014, Western Springs

There was a great turn out at the venue which made for a great nights racing, the track held up throughout the night with only a few real rough patches but there was limited passing. Heat #1 we started off grid 4 and managed to hold onto the position throughout the race. Heat # 2 we started off grid 5. Unfortunately we got stuck on the start and shuffled to the back of the field. We managed to make our way forward again and finished the race in 5th. With these heat results this put us straight through to the feature starting off grid 11. The feature took a bit of time to get started due to a few jumped starts. On one restart we got inside a car that half spun, taking evasive action we ended up on the grass. Luckily we managed to pull the car back onto the track to get a full restart in our original grid as it was a first lap incident. On the next restart the car didn’t take throttle but we managed to get going and made a pass to secure us into the top 10. With about 10 laps to go we were experiencing trouble with the steering. We managed to nurse the car home with these steering issues and finished the feature in 10th. After the race we found that our steering issues were due to a split power steer hose. It was a good night for the Hunnibell Racing Team.
